Demystifying Ocular Biometry & Big Data in Ophthalmic Lenses

Wednesday 31st August 7pm AEST

Technology has been advancing rapidly in ophthalmic optics in recent times allowing significant improvement in patient visual outcomes. This online webinar will discuss ocular biometry and big data as a basis for developing individual eye models and normative modelling in lens design. It will also look at how artificial intelligence in ophthalmic lens solutions have changed practitioner and public mindset of optometry as an industry, moving from a retail model to a full clinical model providing benefits for both patient and practitioner. Keynote speakers are ophthalmic physicist Grant Hannaford and optometrist Thao Hannaford. 1 clinical CPD hour accreditation with OA.

On completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

1. Understand the principles of ocular biometry and big data in modern ophthalmic lenses

2. Learn how to use biometric lenses effectively in practice to enhance patient visual outcomes

3. Gain an insight on the paradigm shift in the optometric practice model to a full clinical model
